Hannah's  woven textiles are primarily about creating sculptural form. Traditional English-smocking techniques inspire her and her woven fabrics have an internal structure creating texture rather than an external finishing process, such as stitching or pleating. Therefore the textile will remember it’s original form when stretched and will return to this when used and then cleaned. Using smocking as a starting point she went on to explore other hand stitched techniques and looked for ways she could re-interpret them. This led her to explore hand stitch leather and digital print.
